I am sure that you all enjoyed everything that the opening ceremonies provided. Since then, there have been victory celebrations, disappointing moments and a very somber moment that caused all of us to reflect on how much these athletes are giving up.
Pray for cooler weather and snow on the West Coast! Visitors to the games are loving it, though!
My role is one of first line host/security split between two areas - Court of Appeal for Sport in the IOC office and at the Olympic Club where IOC members, dignitaries and invited guest enjoy elegant meals and refreshments. I have been greeting everyone from Princess Anne to Dick Pound to CEO's of Olympic Corporate Sponsors.
Both parts of the job are very interesting and exciting.
I have also been taking in as much of the Downtown venues and activities each day.
So for, the Saskatchewan House gets the gold medal for a big screen Olympic coverage, great live entertainment and food and refreshments. The Russian pavilion takes the silver medal as they prepare to host the 2014... and yes, they will need volunteers there too!
